Most of my newer art is located on my Flickr account. Go take a look and let me know what you think!

Today (Jan. 3) was my first day of classes for the quarter. Although I'm taking three classes this quarter, two of them are every other day, on different days, so I only went to two classes today.

Intro to Art is from 11 am to 11:50 am. The teacher seems like he has a good sense of humor and is passionate about the class. I think this class will give me a good "background" on art, so that will be nice. Plus, a friend of mine is taking the class with me, which makes me happy.

In my Printmaking class, which is from 1 pm to 3:50 pm (on Tuesdays and Thursdays), I saw a guy that I've taken a class with before, so hopefully, he'll stay in the class. I'm very weird about these things. I find it helpful to take a class with somebody I know even very casually - even if I only talk to them once or twice during the quarter. (I've got a few problems with social anxiety - situations where I have to be around a lot of people that I don't know really freak me out. I've found a few tricks through the years to help me get past this and this is one of them.) Printmaking sounds like it'll be LOADS of fun. We'll be doing linocuts, which I've been interested in for a while. Nice.

My favorite Yahoo! group is the Sharpie Scouts group. A good number of us came from Nervousness, but the group has grown to include a bunch of people who weren't. If I only have time for one group, this is the group that gets my time. The people are incredible, the art is amazing, and... who doesn't like Sharpies?

Scouts in attendance:

Scout Mistress Diabla
Scout Pledge Flibble
Scout Zhenia (whose name I can now correctly pronounce)
Scout Ptchika
Scout MisaLady (me!)

We met up 7pm on December 30, at the Cha-Cha lounge, where we got, quite possibly, the best seats in the house. We were in the window booth which meant we didn't really have to deal with crowds as much as we would have sitting anywhere else... not everybody who goes to the bar gets to sit down. I actually didn't get there until 7:30, but then I couldn't find them, so I went home and called to see where they were  (I lived maybe ten minutes walking distance away). As it turns out, Diabla and I had been looking at each other, both thinking, "I wonder...?" Oh well. I got back there at about 8. Much fun was had, and we did progressive Sharpie ATCs, which was really neat. We stayed until one am-ish. It was good to have Zhenia and Ptchika there... they live in (oh please, let me get this right) Toronto, and only get to the Seattle area every few years, so the timing was "just right".

I had a WONDERFUL time. It was a perfect way to spend a Friday night.

I'll post scans of four of the progressive ATCs that we did once my scanner stops arguing with me.

UPDATE: Restarting the computer does miracles. Here are the scans I promised.

HASH(0x8cc7bd8)
You are ALTON BROWN, host of "Good Eats"!
Geeky and quirky, a former indie film director
turned foodie, you seek to put science to work
for you in your kitchen.  You concentrate on
proper technique, and understanding why it
works.  You also take pride in using your
clever wit to debunk popular (read: INCORRECT)
thought about cooking.  Youre just a little bit
of a pedagogue, but thats cool, you know what
the hell youre doing.

Which Food Network Personality are you?
